Making way for the sky
This song was written in response to the shameful and violent forced evictions of the poor from the streets of Delhi and Mumbai India at the hands of the police and hired thugs under the directive of local government.  In many cases whole settlements are relocated.  Town planning has little regard for the lives and livelihood of these desparate people and the relocation proceedure is generally swift and efficient.  Residents of occupied public land are given almost no warning of the impending destruction of their homes.  Bulldozing is the most effective way of demolishing the little huts of corrogated iron, plastic sheeting and sack cloth that these desperate citizens call home however often mysterious fires blaze up out of nowhere leaving nothing but ashes.  If you wish to view the Video that accompanies this Audio file then please select this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wRt5Ho7mXQ
